Discover this park
Climb the five-level observation tower and West Lake's mangrove wilderness spreads out toward the ocean — one of the best views in Broward County. The center opened in 1996 and anchors roughly 1,500 acres of restored coastal mangrove wetland, making it the largest nature center in the county park system. It is named for Anne Kolb, the first woman elected to the Broward County Commission. Trails, a tram, paddle rentals and an exhibit hall make it easy to spend a whole morning watching herons, crabs and fish move through the tidal creeks.
