Discover this park
Once a sand-and-gravel mine, Quiet Waters became a lakeside park of about 430 acres after opening as Quiet Waters Beach in 1958. It is known for its cable-tow waterski course, splash park and campsites, but there is also a quieter nature trail winding through meadows and hammocks that doubles as a bird and butterfly sanctuary. Thrill-seekers on skis and people looking for shade and a picnic table both get what they came for.
