Your park quest

5 to tick, plus a bonus

When you get to the park, open your quest and we'll guide you through one step at a time. Do them in any order, across as many visits as you like — anything you tick is saved.

  • Walking

Walk the river trail from the trailhead out to the Loxahatchee and back.

2.5 miles out and back · about 75 min · Wide packed trail, flat, partly shaded. Longest walk in the region.

  • Adventure

Photograph a cypress tree standing in the river.

1 mile to the river · about 20 min · Riverside sections of the trail.

  • Live More

Stand at the river edge and think about what happened on this ground in 1838.

At the river · about 10 min · Shaded bank; markers nearby.

  • Movement

Add a second trail loop for a total of four miles or more.

4+ miles · about 110 min · Long, exposed in places — carry water.

  • Together

Walk the river section together and each choose one spot you would come back to.

1.5 miles · about 45 min · Wide trail, easy to walk side by side.

  • Bonus · optional

Bonus: photograph a wading bird here — one of your three for the signature quest.

On the trail · about 20 min · The canals and river edges are best.

Discover this park

This is a battlefield as well as a park: the 1838 Battle of Loxahatchee was fought here. Today the cypress-lined river and the long trail network make it the biggest walk in the region.

  • Do not disturb the historic battlefield markers.

Park rules and safety instructions always take priority over an LMGT quest, challenge, XP, badge, stamp or reward.
