Discover this park
Tree Tops Park has an unlikely origin story. Golfer Sam Snead and partners once planned a golf course and high-rise here before Broward County bought the 243-acre site for $4.4 million in 1980 and opened it as a park on December 11, 1983. What survived is a lush, forested retreat in the middle of residential Davie — oak hammocks, a lake, canoe rentals and shaded trails that feel far more remote than the address suggests. It is also the gateway to Pine Island Ridge, one of the highest natural points around.
